Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Colombo → Negombo

  1. Meet and greet at Bandaranaike International Airport.
  2. Transfer to Negombo for rest and leisure.
  3. Optional evening walk along Negombo Beach.
  4. Overnight stay: Hotel in Negombo.


Day 2: Negombo → Chilaw → Dambulla

  1. Depart to Chilaw (approx. 2 hrs).
  2. Visit Munneswaram Temple and Manavari Temple, where Lord Rama prayed after defeating Ravana.
  3. Proceed to Dambulla (approx. 3.5 hrs).
  4. Overnight stay: Hotel in Dambulla.


Day 3: Dambulla → Hasalaka (Sita Kotuwa) → Kandy

  1. Morning drive to Hasalaka (approx. 2 hrs).
  2. Visit Sita Kotuwa, believed to be the first place Seetha Devi was held.
  3. Continue to Kandy (approx. 2.5 hrs).
  4. Optional visit to Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

Day 4: Kandy → Nuwara Eliya

  1. Scenic drive to Nuwara Eliya enroute visit Bhakta Hanuman Temple.
  2. Visit Gayathri Peedam, a sacred site linked to Ravana's Shiva worship.
  3. Explore Seetha Amman Temple, the most iconic Ravana Trail site.
  4. Stroll through Hakgala Botanical Garden (Ashok Vatika).
  5. Overnight stay: Hotel in Nuwara Eliya.


Day 5: Nuwara Eliya → Welimada (Divurumpola) → Ella

  1. Depart for Welimada (approx. 1 hr).
  2. Visit Divurumpola Temple, where Seetha is believed to have undergone her Agni Pariksha.
  3. Continue to Ella (approx. 2 hrs).
  4. Hike Little Adam’s Peak (45 min each way) Enjoy panoramic views from the summit
  5. Overnight stay: Hotel in Ella.


Day 6: Ella Exploration

  1. Morning hike to Ravana Cave, tied to the legend of Seetha’s captivity.
  2. Visit Ravana Falls
  3. Enjoy scenic viewpoints and relaxation in Ella.

Day 7: Ella → Kataragama → Galle

  1. Detour to Kataragama Temple (approx. 3 hrs), linked to Skanda/Murugan who aided Rama.
  2. Continue to Galle (approx. 4 hrs from Kataragama).
  3. Explore Galle Fort in the evening.
  4. Overnight stay: Hotel in Galle.


Day 8: Galle → Colombo

  1. Coastal drive to Colombo (approx. 2.5 hrs).
